Celebrating 90 Years
01 June 2017
Cats Protection celebrated its 90th birthday in May. It was founded in 1927, when cats were viewed with indifference as animals that could just look after themselves. Thousands of cats were subject to terrible cruelty, neglect, starvation and disease.
The concern of just a few cat lovers heralded an organisation that has grown into the UK’s largest feline welfare charity: it continues to find good homes for cats in need, support and encourage the neutering of cats and improve people’s understanding of cats and their care
